Directed Knitting
For advanced beginners and beyond. We all love to knit in a group with old friends and new! Gather with Lisa Hoffman for an hour and a half of guidance on your personal knitting, instruction on various techniques, and ideas for new projects.
$120 for 6 sessions. Must complete all 6 classes within an 8 week period. Students receive 10% off all yarn for class projects.
Choose one of 4 available meeting times:
Tuesdays 11:15am - 12:45pm and 4 - 5:30pm
Wednesdays 11:15am - 12:45pm and 5-6:30pm
Saturdays 1:30-3:00pm
Beginning Knitting
A two session course, each session lasting one hour. In the first session, you will be knitting in no time and have your first project underway before class ends. During the second session, you will learn to cast on, increase and decrease and be ready to knit just about anything!
$70 for two sessions, not including materials

Finishing with Lidia
Taught by the talented Lidia Karabinech, our in-house designer, and by reputation considered the best finisher in the New York area. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the best - during two one-hour sessions! Lidia’s expert skills will be evident as she shows you the techniques for completing your garments and sweaters like a real professional.
This class requires some preparation, please ask when you register!

Private Lessons
We offer one-on-one private lessons with our experienced employees during our regular store hours, Monday through Friday. The class can cover any knitting or crochet topic that you'd like to explore. Contact us at 212-288-9276 to schedule your private session today!
$50 per hour
How to register:
Sign up in advance by telephone - (212) 288 -9276 - or in person at the New York store.
Payment is required in full at time of registration. Fees do not include supplies which will be purchased at String at the start of the class.
If you need to cancel within 72 hours of the class, your fee will be forfeited. We reserve the right to cancel or change the date of a class and will refund your fee or offer to apply it to another class of your choice.
