As July draws to a close, we're excited to bring you two new designs for women and children that you can start now and have ready in time for those early autumn evenings.

Our Lace Bolero takes a timeless wardrobe staple and makes it extra special with couture-quality shaping and a simply beautiful eyelet pattern on both the body and sleeves. The short sleeves make the bolero an especially quick knit and they ensure that you won't feel a chill at the office or out on the town. The bolero is expertly finished with ribbed edges that impart a smooth and polished fit. We used our versatile String Classica (100% cashmere) in a chic green shade, but at a gauge of 4.5 sts to the inch on a US 7 needle, there are dozens of yarns that can be substituted. We also recommend our String Carisma (30% cashmere, 55% extrafine merino, and 15% silk) that comes in a wide variety of shades from subtle neutrals to soft pastels and bright primary colors, because we know that you'll want to have this piece in more than one color for your fall wardrobe!

The Heirloom Baby Cardigan incorporates the stitch pattern of one of our most beloved designs, our String Heirloom Baby Blanket. This precious cardigan can be knit up quickly on its own, or with the blanket to create a stunning set, to celebrate the arrival of a new baby girl or boy. There is minimal shaping in the cardigan and the stitch patterns are just a simple combination of knit and purl stitches so that every knitter from beginner to advanced can create this project with ease. Our cozy String Classica in a classic white colorway ensures that this cardigan is as special as the recipient, but you could easily substitute our String Carisma or any other yarn that has a gauge of 5 sts to the inch on a US 6 needle.
